RISE (Intervention)
RISE Intervention Time at West Craven Middle School
At WCMS, we have a dedicated intervention time called RISE built into the daily schedule from 9:33 to 10:03 a.m. During this 30-minute period, students work in mixed grade-level groups to focus on improving individual skills. This time helps students catch up on areas where they need extra support and also allows those who are ready to explore more advanced topics.
What is Intervention Time?
Intervention time is a special part of the day designed to give students extra help with learning. It’s a key part of our school’s support system called MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support), which means we provide different levels of support based on each student’s needs to help them succeed.
RISE Clubs on Fridays
On Fridays, instead of intervention groups, students participate in fun and engaging clubs. Every member of our school community—from the principal and teachers to custodians—leads a club. This gives students a chance to explore new interests and build friendships.
If you have questions about RISE or the clubs, please contact Ms. Hill, our MTSS Interventionist. email: cameron.hill@cravenk12.org
